2016 Show Season

We had another fantastic summer and would like to congratulate our riders and coaches on their success this season.

Jagger 2016

Morgan Young-Speirs finished her last summer before heading to the University of Calgary with a new leased horse, Jagger. These two had a blast bombing around the 1.10m finishing in the ribbons nearly every round. Morgan was one of our first students in the Ironstone lesson program when our barn opened. It has been a privileged to see her grow both as a rider and an individual. We can`t wait to see your success in the future!

Max 2016

Hannah Fulmer also finished her summer competing with Maximilian in the 0.9 and 1m jumpers before heading off to school at University of Florida. After a long winter it was wonderful to see this pair together competing and having such a fun time. Maximilian has been leased for the year to a wonderful home where he will be teaching another rider how much fun the jumper ring can be. We wish her the best of luck this summer with her showing!

Hugo 2016

Morana Sijan and Sir Gallahad competed in the low hunter division this season and showed phenomenal improvement in both their flat work and over fences. This winter they will be competing in the Ironstone schooling shows at 3`3 height in preparation for another season of showing on the A circuit.

Cash 2016

Seana Holek and Captain Oats competed in their first year of pre-greens. This young hunter is always a pleasure to watch in the ring. It will be very exciting to see what he has in store for this coming summer!

Harry 2016

Sarah Lewis and her new horse Harry had their first summer together this year. Harry experienced the A show environment with a trip to the Caledon Equestrian Park and a few round in the schooling ring. This big guy will be fun to see grow and develop with his rider.

Amanda Mallat and Contessa also came to experience their first A circuit shows. After just a few trips around the schooling ring everyone was impressed with this young mare. Looking forward to see what the future holds forEton 2016 these two.

Emily Heil and Eton spent their second summer together in the schooling ring at both Palgrave and Angelstone. With his big jump Eton always turns heads. It will be fun to see them showing together soon!

Such a successful show season could never happen without the help of our excellent coaches. We would like to thank and congratulate to Jonathan Chesler and Seana Holek on helping the whole show team succeed this season. We thank you for your hard work, patience and time throughout the year but especially during the busy show season.

We would also like to mention all the riders that didn't compete this season; we appreciate your support and patience with the busy schedule during the summer. We have such a great group of boarders and are so happy to have you all with us.

A final thanks to parents, friends and family of our riders who help support them and encourage them. It makes all the difference!

2015 Show Season

As the royal brings our show season to a close we would like to congratulate all our riders and coaches on their achievements this season.

IMG_2909Morana Sijan and Sir Gallahad had a great year competing in the adult amateur hunter division at Palgrave and Angelstone. This pair never stops improving and that is greatly due to Morana’s dedication and hard work both at the shows and at home. She is constantly working to improve her ride and has been doing a fantastic job all year. We can’t wait to see you in the show ring next year.

IMG_2499Morgan Young-Speirs and Aristocrat had an accomplished final season in the pony jumpers. They won countless ribbons including an impressive 3rd at the Royal Winter Fair. We have seen these two grow together since Morgan was just little kid in the schooling pony division on the trillium circuit and we are sad to see Casper go. We are wishing Casper good luck with his new owner over in Michigan! Morgan is on the hunt for an equally fun (but a little taller) jumper for next season.

Cash1Seana Holek and Captain Oats completed their first season competing in the baby green hunter division. These two had an impressive first year in a very competitive division placing many times. Cash has improved drastically over the course of the season and we are very excited to see what he will do over the next few years.

IMG_3602Hannah Fulmer and Maximilian finished their first season on the A circuit in the jumper ring. Although these two have had quite a record on the trillium circuit it was even more impressive to see them learn together on the A’s.  They also competed at the Strides for Stability show earning Champion of the 2’9 jumper division and winning the 3’ mini prix. Hannah and Max both showed perseverance and hard work throughout the season. We are proud of their improvement and are looking forward to next season with them.

Olivia Drouillard and Fine Design competed at their first show ever this season. They performed beautifully in the hack and equitation on the flat divisions at the Strides for Stability show winning lots of 1st’s . As they gain more experience off the property, we can’t wait to see them show over fences in the years to come.

We have many new horses and we are very excited to see what next season will bring!

2014 Show Season

This year was a big step for all the riders at Ironstone, many of whom competed in their first A circuit shows in both Michigan and Ontario.

Morana Sijan and her horse Sir Gallahad competed in the 3’ Adult amateur hunter division. They started their season in Michigan at the Waterloo hunt club and the Metamora hunt club shows. They then progressed through the season on the Ontario circuit. This team started the season consistently in the lower ribbons and finished their last show with an impressive first place finish over fences at Angelstone. This pair will continue in the adult amateurs in the season to come on the Ontario A circuit.

Morgan Young-Speirs and Aristocrat competed in a smattering of divisions to begin the season. They started the season in the Large Pony 3’ Hunters and the B equitation on the Michigan circuit. Placing very well at both the Waterloo hunt club and the Metamora Hunt show, they moved into the pony jumpers on the Ontario circuit. This pair finished 8th over all qualifying them for the Royal. They placed 8th at the royal for both Morgan and Aristocrat’s first time qualifying. Morgan will compete again this year in the Pony jumper division on the Ontario circuit.

Jack Speirs and Glen Denning Dior had a fantastic first year of competing. They competed in the beginner adult division on both the Michigan and Ontario circuit. They won many ribbons on both circuits both over fences and under saddle. Jack hopes to compete in the adult amateur hunters this coming season. He will also potentially share Glen Denning Dior with his daughter in hunter division.

Jacqueline Chevalier competed on Catalyst on the Ontario circuit in the 1.20m jumpers. They had some good round but unfortunately 4 or 8 faulting knocking them out of the ribbons. Jacqueline also competed with her young horse In the Corner in the Michigan 0.9m jumpers placing 7th at their first show. This year Jacqueline has a new leased horse, Reaffirm who she plans to compete in the jumper ring. She also plans to compete with In the Corner on the Ontario circuit in the jumper ring.

Seana Holek had a successful summer in selling her horse Just For Fun 3e and in finding some new young hunter prospects. This coming summer she plans to compete in the Baby green hunters with her young horse Captain Oats and to spend time bringing along her other two prospects.

We are extremely excited for this coming year as our show team is growing. We have many new boarders interested in competing or that are on the hunt for new horses.

Again we look to thank our fantastic coaches, Seana and Jonathan for all their help in preparation for show season and throughout the summer.

Also we thank our non-showing boarders as well as lesson program students, we appreciate your support and participation throughout the year. A special mention to those that made the long drive to the shows to visit and support our riders.

2013 Show Season

We are sad to see the end of another awesome show season.

We would like to offer our congratulations to all the riders on the South West Trillium Circuit, as well as our thanks to all the hosting show facilities.

Nicole Elias and Glendenning Dior placed 8th in the Modified Children's Hunter division allowing her to compete at the Trillium Championships after only having participated in 5 shows. Congratulations Nicole, we had so much fun! Nicole will be riding for the University of Windsor Equestrian Team through the winter.  We look forward to hearing of your success.

Morana Sijan and Sir Gallahad completed their second season of showing and demonstrating great improvement throughout the season and placing 3rd over fences at Warwick Equestrian Development.  She hopes to compete in the Adult Amateurs next year and the Adult Equitation.  Many admired this pair.

Morgan Young-Speirs and Aristocrat had an excellent season landing in 4th in the large pony hunter division and 2nd in the B equitation over fences. She also placed 10th in the equitation over fences at the Trillium Championships and won two 10ths in the large pony division. Morgan and Aristocrat have really clicked this year and we look forward to seeing them show next year.

Jacqueline Chevalier and Catalyst finished 4th in the 1.1 meter Trillium jumpers after only having participated in 4 shows. She also earned herself a spot on Team Ontario for the Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championships, winning a bronze medal individually as well as a Team Jumping gold.

Seana Holek started her season off with Just For Fun 3e. She had an excellent season coaching Morgan in the large ponies and bringing along a few young horses at home.

We had a great season and are so excited for next year. We have few new boarders and horses that we are hoping to have showing with us next year.

We would also like to thank our amazing support team i.e parents and students that support us and help through our busiest time of year!

Stay posted for dates for our Winter Hunter Schooling Series!

Augusta National (AKA Tiger) ridden by Seana Holek and owned by Patti Pearce having was champion in the Hi/Lo Trillium Hunter Division at the Eden Ridge I and placing 9th over all after only participating in three shows.

Congratulations to Sir Gallahad (AKA Hugo) ridden and owned by Morana Sijan for completing their first year showing and finishing a great season with a 6th in the under saddle of the 2’6 Open Hunter Division at the Warwick Equestrian II. Morana and Hugo plan to show again next season and will prove to be a competitive team in the hunters.

Caprio (AKA Bentley) ridden by Nicole Elias and owned by Brianne Gagnier finished his first show season with a 6th over fences and a 4th under saddle in the 2’6 Open Hunter Division at Eden Ridge II and Warwick Equestrian I.

Glendening Dior (AKA Archie) shown by Seana Holek and owned by Nicole Elias had an excellent season in the Low Hunter Division, after only attending three shows, just missed qualifying for Trillium Championships by a few points. He also competed in the Low Hunter Division at the Palgrave Classic and was admired by not only the audience but the judge as well.

Aristocrat (AKA Casper) owned and shown by Morgan Young-Spiers, were a great team having completed their first season together in a very competitive Large Pony Division. Having won several ribbons at every show, they placed 9th over all in the division. Next year the pair will continue in the Large Pony division.

Just For Fun 3e (AKA Summer) ridden and owned by Seana Holek were a very competitive pair in the 1.1 Trillium Jumper Division, finishing with many ribbons, including reserve champion at Warwick Development I. They qualified for Trillium Championships where they continued to be in the ribbons placing 8th and 6th in the Trillium Jumper Division and 6th in the 1.1 meter Mini Prix. As well they participated in the Classic at Palgrave, winning a class. It was a great first season together for Seana and Summer.

Catalyst (AKA Mickey) owned by Kaitlyn Hines and shown by Jacqueline Chevalier qualified for Trillium Championship placing second over all in the 1.1 meter Trillium Jumper Division of the South West Circuit. They were also champion at the Palgrave classic and place 3rd in the mini prix. Championships was a bit of a disappointment as Mickey injured himself in the first round of competition.
