Ironstone Stables

Ironstone Stables
Construction of Ironstone Stables began in December 2007 with horses moving in July 2008.  Our riding school has been enrolling students since the day our horses moved in with great friendships being made between our riders and their mounts.  Our in house schooling shows have given both our young students and our adult riders an opportunity to ‘show their stuff’, setting new goals with each new season.  Our boarders are a terrific group of horse loving and family friendly people, always happy to interact with our ‘school’ riders and are demonstrating their horsemanship every chance they get.  Many of our boarders compete locally in a variety of events, as well as the trillium circuit and up to the ‘A’ circuit.  We are looking forward to this years show season beginning with the indoor hunter schooling series this winter.

Jonathan Chesler

Jonathon Chesler & All Star - Spruce Meadows
Jonathan Chesler began riding in 1971.  Jonathan has had an extensive career in both hunter and jumper rings as a competitor and then as a coach.

Jonathan began riding with Colonel Gutowski, Hans Renz and Christolotte Boylen, during his early 3 day event years.  Jonathan moved to the hunter/jumper ring training under the tutelage of Gord and Kim Kirton, first as a student showing his own horses and then working for Gord in the sales barn.  Jonathan has had great success showing provincially in Ontario and Quebec, moving on to Spruce Meadows and campaigning extensively in the USA in Florida, Arizona, California, and Kentucky.

Jonathan has made a career of starting young horses for the show ring.  As a coach, Jonathan’s goal is to prepare riders of all ages to compete successfully in the hunter/jumper ring through an individualized training program best suited to the horse and rider needs.
